• NCS: CAC Anani Declares Total Resolve Towards Removal of Trucks from Tincan Port Corridor

The newly appointed Area Controller of Tincan Ports, Comptroller Joseph Anani has assured Nigerians and users in particular of the Command’s resolve to rid the Tincan Island port highway of redundant parking of heavy-duty trucks causing traffic gridlock in the area.

Speaking in a parley with newsmen at the Tincan ports premises, Anani stated that the media is a strategic partner with the Nigerian Customs Service in nation building in harnessing greater economic gains for the country.

He then advised the media practitioners to uphold professional and unbiased reporting bearing in mind that whatever is sent out from the table of the press goes a long way to affect the public positively or otherwise.

On that note, Comptroller Anani stated the plans of the Command which include training of journalists to ensure that the profession is not further desecrated by charlatans who go about making nonsense of this noble profession.

In the aspect of enforcement, Anani said that this is a top priority in the duties of the Command. To this end, he informed the press that the Command generated the sum of 111,270, 357,000 (One hundred and eleven billion, two hundred and seventy million, three hundred and fifty-seven thousand naira in May alone.

When asked about his plans towards dealing with drug traffickers using the port to bring in illicit substances into the country, Anani promised to ride on the template of his immediate successor to stamp out such unwholesome activities in Tincan Ports.
